How to see the add-inīefore you can use the Viva Insights Outlook add-in, be sure that the following prerequisites are in place: Learn more about how Microsoft protects your privacy. This add-in is an extension of your Microsoft Outlook experience and works within Outlook to help you gain focus time, maintain your work relationships, plan time away from work, and improve your overall work-life balance. If your answer to any of these questions is yes, the Microsoft Viva Insights Outlook add-in provides insights that can help you stay on top of your tasks and get more done during your workday. Also see How do I find my plan?ĭid you ever miss an important email or forget a commitment you made to your co-workers? Do meetings and emails tend to take over your calendar? Do you ever wish to see reminders for 1:1 meetings with your manager, direct reports, or other top collaborators? Would you like to be notified if an upcoming meeting doesn't have a quorum? So for me, at least for now, it's "Out with the New, in with the Old".Applies to: Microsoft Viva Insights elements are available in varying levels to users of different Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft 365 plans. Surely that's the sort of stuff that should be done and dusted way before Beta? And I wish I could say that, leaving the above issues aside, New Outlook looked like a giant leap for mankind - but so far it's one small stumble for (a) man. Hard to believe that they could role out an email client without the ability to set up widely used email accounts and without the ability to synchronise Contacts for their own account holders on their own servers. Hopefully the Product Teams can get this fixed and have those missing functionalities be added." At least they didn't make their usual suggestion that I add my vote on their forums to get them added. This feature has just been released and not yet fully developed so there's still a lot of missing features and functionalities. We've been taking notes of the issues related to the New Outlook so we could report it back to the Product Team. I got back to support asking if they knew about the issue - here's their response:
I checked on the Microsoft server and that's fine, so remarkably Microsoft has managed to roll out an email client that can synchronise contacts with other providers but not its own. Then the bad news: my Outlook/Exchange account Contacts list doesn't show up in New Outlook. My other email accounts (iCloud, Gmail and Microsoft Exchange) all appeared to migrate OK, and the associated Calendar and Contact information also showed up in Outlook, whereas on "Old" Outlook the iCloud and Gmail Contacts and Calendar weren't readily available (I have been using PieSync to synchronise my contacts across platforms). However now I've tried it out I have found that there are other issues.Īs expected, the account wouldn't migrate, but as I really only use that account for billing and other BT-related stuff I decided to overcome that issue by switching my MyBT emailing address to my iCloud account (when I set the account up many years ago that wasn't an option). I checked with Outlook support to confirm that if I switch to New Outlook I can switch back without any loss of data or settings answer was yes, and I have found that to be correct.
